All about Mick

I’m Mick, an experienced and qualified celebrant supporting families across Yorkshire to say goodbye to and celebrate the life of the loved one they have lost.

I’m a family man, married with two grown up sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law and a beautiful grandson. Like many families we have experienced the grief of losing loved ones and taken comfort by celebrating their life through the words of a professional celebrant.

My family means everything to me, in the same way yours does to you, so I am committed to ensuring every family I work with receives the very best service – as I would expect for my family.

My mission is to ensure every one of my ceremonies is a celebration of the life lost and is uniquely tailored to your family’s wishes. My testimonials, generously given by the families I have supported, reflect the care and thoughtfulness of the service I provide.

Funerals and memorials

Let’s celebrate the life of your loved one together. It is a true privilege to be entrusted with writing and delivering a funeral service. Once I have received instruction from you or the funeral director, I will arrange a time to meet with you. This meeting allows us to discuss your loved one’s funeral in detail so I can create a meaningful and personal ceremony that honours their life and reflects the memories you hold dear.

You may want the funeral to be very traditional or you may want to embrace some of the elements that made your loved one so special, the choice is entirely yours. Colour themes, music and poetry are often included but other elements can be added that maybe involve family members or embrace rituals associated with grief and the healing process.

Throughout the process I will liaise with you and the funeral director and I will be at the venue to meet you when you arrive, ensuring the service is everything you hoped for as you say goodbye to your loved one.

If your loved one has opted for a direct cremation you may be considering a less formal memorial service for family and friends to gather and reminisce, I can help you create the perfect memorial to celebrate their life. You can contact me using the details at the end of this site.

Planning ahead

How will your story be told?

Too often I meet families who can’t decide what to include in a service for a loved one or are unsure about specific detail of their life such as the schools they attended, their childhood memories or how romance blossomed with their partner. There is so much to think about!

When you plan your own funeral you make it easier for those you leave behind and the ceremony becomes a true reflection of who you are.

I can help you plan ahead and create a unique celebration of your life. We will discuss your ideas for your funeral including the eulogy, any photographs or videos you might want incorporating, any poetry or readings and of course music, so we can be sure we are playing the soundtrack to your life. If there are additional elements you would like including we can ensure they are part of the final service.

Once prepared you will receive a presentation folder with your complete service to share with your family, ready for when your time comes. When you plan your own funeral it becomes a true reflection of who you are.
